What we collect

Nothing about you. GhostChat has no accounts and never asks for a phone number, email address or real name.

Your address and contacts

Your address (a cryptographic key), your display name and your contact list are stored only in your own browser on your own device. We never receive them in readable form.

Messages

Messages, photos and voice notes are end-to-end encrypted on your device before they are sent. Our server only holds the encrypted data until the recipient opens the conversation, and then deletes it for good. We cannot read your messages.

Online status and typing

Online status and the typing indicator are sent live between devices and are never saved.

Tracking and ads

GhostChat has no ads, no tracking and does not sell or share data with anyone.

Deleting your data

Clear your browser data or create a new address to remove everything from your device. Undelivered messages to you are removed from the server once you open them.

Children

GhostChat is not intended for children under 13.
